Internationally-renowned New York publisher Three Rooms Press will host an evening of contemporary Dada performance and poetry on
Tuesday, 26 September at Château Hornegg Au Lac, Seefeldstrasse 201, 8008 (Tram 2/4, Wildbachstrasse station), Zürich,
to celebrate the release of MAINTENANT 17: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art.
Doors open 18:00; show begins at 18:30. Admission is free.
The evening will feature dada performance art, poetry and music from Fork Burke (Switzerland/New York), Dario Roberto Dioli (Italy),
Egon Günther (Germany), Boni Joi (Switzerland/New York), Marta Janik (Poland), Béné Kusendila (Brussels), Jaan Malin (Estonia),
as well as a dada overview from MAINTENANT editors Peter Carlaftes and Kat Georges.
At the event, expect the unexpected, including provocative poetry and disruptive performance that centers on the journal’s theme, “Peacefire.”
Guests and performers are encouraged to wear costumes in the spirit of Dada, the influential anti-art movement that sprouted during World War I
and has been influential in counterculture movements ever since, including the Beat generation, Fluxus, punk, hip hop and more.
Previous Three Rooms Press European Dada Salons have been the stuff of legend, with events during the past decade in
London, Brussels, Paris, Bilbao, Bastia, and Florence. Each salon includes performances by local contributors to
the critically-acclaimed annual contemporary dada journal, Maintenant, with five to fifteen performers per event.
Performers are often in outlandish costumes, and offer very imaginative presentations
of conceptual artistry, singing, dancing, and sound poetry, among other acts.
